I absolutely love capturing a couple on the brink of becoming parents. The anticipation, the quiet moments of connection, it is all wrapped up in a beautiful, fleeting pause before life completely changes.
A few days ago, I had the joy of meeting up with an incredible couple for their maternity session right along the Feather River in Yuba City. The weather couldn't have been better, and the golden, warm light filtering through the trees near the water set the most dreamlike backdrop for their photos.
We took our time chatting about the nursery preparations and all the quiet excitement that comes with welcoming your very first baby. Being able to freeze these moments in time for parents-to-be is always special, but watching these two together was a tender reminder of why I love doing maternity sessions so much. They were so naturally attuned to each other, every laugh felt effortless and I found myself smiling the whole time!
As the sun began to dip behind the tree line, casting that rich, low glow over the river, we captured some of my absolute favorite shots from the afternoon.
